Hello. I am Rhythm Roxas. I am a third-year occupational therapy student at the University of Batangas. I am from the Philippines. Right now, I am filming this video inside my room. In this video, I will share my views about what my favorite part of being a student is. As student, basically, I engage in different activities such as social communication, writing, designing, studying, reading books, and so much more. Among these, activities, what i love the most is designing. Specifically, graphic designing.
I started to learn graphic designing when I was in senior high school. Back then, I just started exploring about it. Well basically, as a student, we started graphic designing, just some sort of graphic designing on using the powerpoint presentations. After a few months, i also learned creating infographics which is the most time-consuming but the most fulfilling, more than that, I also do brochures, doing customized stickers, business logos, and invitations. I do this through the use of my laptop and a mouse. I use an app, which is canva and microsoft powerpoint. I use different shapes, combine them, choose a color palette which complements the theme, add different elements and backgrounds, and add texts if necessary. since i’ve mentioned, in infographics and brochure, texts are necessary. and taking time to research about the data or the information that i’ll be adding into my output will be put there as well. The lack of time and motivation, however, occasionally keeps me from engaging in this pastime. Since this is merely a pastime, the majority of my outputs were created exclusively for academic purposes.
For me it was meaningful, because this ability has helped me boost my self-esteem because i just discovered more of my strengths in creativity, resourcefulness, and my artistic side. I know i put my heart into it because while doing it, for example, whreate a business or an organization logo, i prepare explanations about each detail of the logo that My friends and family began complimenting me on it after that. They mentioned that by taking on commissions, I could do this as a side hustle or a part-time occupation. Additionally, I only started earning because of it this year, 2022. I had three clients. And these three clients will be always remembered because they believed in my skill. As a person who works as a student, one of the things and occupations that I love the most is graphic designing. This represents a new hope and ability for me. As I was doing it, I realized I had a passion for it, one that had been shaped and started when I became a high school student, and up until now, as a college student.
