¡Hola! Mi nombre es Graciela y tengo 48 años. Emigré a Europa hace cuatro años desde Latinoamérica en busca de mejores oportunidades para mí y para mi familia. Actualmente, resido en España, en una ciudad gallega llamada A Coruña. Aquí, he conseguido empleo en el sector de la limpieza, algo muy distinto a lo que ejercía en mi país de procedencia. Sin embargo, agradezco mucho haber conseguido este empleo para poder seguir adelante en este nuevo comienzo.
Quise participar y colaborar con los estudiantes de cuarto curso de Grado en Terapia Ocupacional para mostrar mi día a día en mi trabajo, un sector poco valorado por la sociedad.
Mi día normalmente inicia muy temprano, a las 6:30 AM. Suelo levantarme, preparar y tomar una taza de café, vestirme y salir a trabajar. Tengo unos sitios ya establecidos a los que debo acudir cada día, entre portales y oficinas, en diferentes puntos de la ciudad. Por lo que me traslado en el coche a cada uno de ellos. Al ser temprano, llego llego rápido a los sitios y al no coincidir con gente realizo y termino más rápido mi trabajo. Más entrada la mañana, coincido con vecinos de la comunidad y suelo demorarme un poco más hablando con ellos.
¿Ser limpiadora es significativo para mí? Sí, sí lo es, porque en este momento de mi vida es el medio que me permite el sustento diario para mí y para mi familia, cuando emigras solo piensas en la manera de sobrevivir, y ¿por qué no? de seguir creciendo. En este momento, ser limpiadora, es mi trabajo perfecto.

Hello! My name is Graciela and I am 48 years old. I immigrated to Europe four years ago from Latin America in search of better opportunities for me and my family. Currently, I live in Spain, in a Galician city called A Coruña. Here, I have found employment in the cleaning sector, something very different from what I did in my country of origin. I wanted to participate and collaborate with the students of the fourth year of the Occupational Therapy Degree to show my day to day in my job, a sector that is not very valued by society.
My day usually starts very early, at 6:30 AM. I usually get up, prepare and have a cup of coffee, get dressed and go to work. I have a few established places where I have to go every day, between portals and offices, in different parts of the city. So I take the car to each one of them. Being early, I arrive quickly to the sites and not to coincide with people I perform and finish my work faster. Later in the morning, I meet neighbors in the community and I usually take a little longer talking to them.
Is being a cleaner meaningful to me? Yes, yes it is, because at this point in my life it is the means that allows me to support myself and my family on a daily basis when you migrate you only think about how to survive, and why not? to continue to grow. At the moment, being a cleaner is my perfect job.
