Hola, soy Lucía Bestilleiro y soy estudiante de Producción de Audiovisuales y Espectáculos. Bueno, yo os voy a comentar un poquillo lo que conozco de este mundo y como me metí en él. La verdad es que fue todo un poco de rebote, yo salí de un pésimo bachiller, sin saber qué hacer con mi vida, sin ningún tipo de orientación y, bueno, decidí apuntarme a Periodismo porque era una carrera con la que, bueno, se asemejaba un poco a lo que yo quería. Gracias a Dios no entré en la carrera y tuve que buscarme la vida como pude. Entonces decidí apostar por ello y creo que fue la mejor decisión de mi vida. Fue un ciclo que me abrió un nuevo mundo y que me abrió unas nuevas oportunidades. Porque de repente encontré algo con lo que de verdad me sentía a gusto trabajando, con lo que me sentía a gusto estudiando, que lo que me estaban enseñando a mí me estaba sirviendo de algo. Creo que, de verdad, he descubierto mi vocación y es algo para lo que en verdad me siento útil, y que disfruto un montón haciéndolo.
Durante tres años que llevo estudiando Producción, hemos realizado un montón de prácticas, eso es cierto. Hemos hecho un montón de conciertos, hemos hecho un musical, hemos grabado spots, hemos grabado cortometrajes, hemos grabado reportajes, estamos preparando videoclips, entonces, han sido muchas las prácticas.
Fuera, lo que es trabajo externo, yo por ejemplo sí he hecho. He estado trabajando en un cortometraje, he trabajado también en publicidad y llevo dos años trabajando en la Gala de los Premios Mestre Mateo, ¿no? ¿Qué pasa? Esto sí que es un mundo un poco complicado. Al fin y al cabo, el sector audiovisual sigue estando un poco centralizado, pero bueno, poco a poco vamos abriéndonos a caras nuevas. Es un trabajo muy agobiante, a veces es muy agobiante y hay que trabajar mucho. Pero todo ese esfuerzo y todo, todo ese potencial, una vez que lo ves en tu proyecto, que lo has sacado adelante, ha valido la pena totalmente. No hay una rutina como tal en este mundo. Al fin y al cabo, hay semanas que se va a trabajar un montón, sobre todo las anteriores y el mismo día del rodaje, pero hay semanas que va a haber que trabajar menos. Y hay muchas semanas en las que vas a estar parado, porque ni siquiera hay proyectos, y los que empezamos desde abajo no tenemos proyectos bum bum bum bum. No. A veces pasa mucho tiempo hasta que volvemos a trabajar y nos vuelven a llamar y hay que ser, intentar ser, lo más estables posibles. Pero es que este mundo es lo que tiene.
Todo esto que voy a decir es desde mi punto de vista y de mi experiencia personal, ¿vale? El ser mujer no ha sido un obstáculo para mí al introducirme en este mundillo. De hecho, también hay que destacar que en mi clase de once personas que somos, solo dos son hombres y todas mis profesoras son mujeres. ¿Qué es más fácil acceder si eres hombre que si eres mujer? Sí. Sí, porque en el fondo seguimos teniendo una sociedad machista, eso es verdad. También hay que pensar que, eh, esto no es excusa eh. No vayáis a pensar, pero hay que situarse en que el mundo audiovisual es un mundo que por el momento sigue estando bastante centralizado, por tanto, las caras que seguimos viendo son las mismas de hace veinte años. Tengo fe, de que esto siga cambiando, siga evolucionando y vernos a todos en igualdad.

Hello, I am Lucía Bestilleiro and I am a student of Audiovisual Production and Shows. Well, I’m going to tell you a little bit about what I know about this world and how I got into it. I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting to get here, I finished an awful year of high school without knowing what I should study and without any guidance and, so I decided to sign up for journalism because it was a degree that, well, looked a little bit like what I wanted to do. Thank God I didn’t get into that degree and I had to get by as I could. So I decided to make an effort and I think it was the best decision of my life. It was a vocational training that brought me a new world and new opportunities. Suddenly, I felt that I have found something that I was really comfortable working and studying with, that what I was being taught was worth it. I think I’ve really discovered my vocation and I feel that I am really useful, also I enjoy doing it a lot!
I’ve been studying Production for three years and I have to say that we’ve done a lot of practice. We have done a lot of concerts, we have done a musical, we have recorded spots, we have recorded short films, we have recorded reports, we are preparing videoclips, so there have been many practices.
Moreover, I have done work by my own, what is external work, I for example have done. I have been working on a short film, I have also worked in advertising and I have been working for two years at the Gala of the Mestre Mateo Awards, right?. What’s wrong with that? This is a really complicated world. After all, the audiovisual sector is still a little bit centralized, but well, little by little we are opening up to new faces. It is a very burdensome job, sometimes it is very burdensome and you have to work a lot. But all that effort and everything, all that potential, when you see it reflected in your project you’ve pulled it off, it’s totally worth it. There is not a specific routine in this world. After all, there are weeks that you have to go to work a lot of days, especially the previous weeks and the same day of shooting, but there are weeks that you have to work less. Also, there are many weeks you won’t work at all, because there aren’t even projects, and those who are beginners have no many projects. No. Sometimes it takes a long time for us to get back to work and get called back and we have to be, try to be, as stable as possible. But this world is like this.
What I’m going just about to say is from my point of view and my personal experience, okay? Being a woman has not been an obstacle for me in getting into this world. In fact, it should also be pointed out that there are eleven people in my class and only two of them are men, and all my teachers are women. Is it easier to access if you’re a man than if you’re a woman? Yes, Yes, because it’s clear that we still live in a macho society, that’s true. I don’t want to excuse it, don’t get me wrong, but you have to consider that the audiovisual world is a world that nowadays is still quite centralized, therefore, we are still seeing same people we used to see twenty years ago. I have faith that this will continue changing, evolving and that we could see each other as equals.
